About the Run Brevard Race Series

Welcome Athletes! The Run Brevard Race Series is Brevard County’s premier local race series, brought to you by the Running Zone Foundation.

The Running Zone Foundation Run Brevard Race Series is a 7-race series. It includes three 5Ks, three 2-Milers, and a 3K. Each year, the series kicks off in July at the Firecracker 5K. It wraps up in May with the Run for the Gecko 5K.

Team & School Challenges

Our Team Challenge lets five friends, family members, or co-workers compete together against other teams in the same category. For example, you can challenge your bosses and co-workers to tune up their fitness while flying your corporate colors. It’s also a great way to get to know one another, both personally and professionally.

The School Team Challenge provides fitness and increased self-esteem for those 14 and under. In fact, more than 1,500 elementary and middle school students have participated this season. Running Zone can also help your school develop its own walking or running program.

Series Points

Throughout the series, Running Zone keeps track of each participant’s series completion and series points. For each race you participate in, you’ll earn a participation point. At the end of the series, participants who complete all 7 races will earn a special Series Finisher prize. This applies whether you race in-person or submit virtual results. Past prizes have included a custom beach towel, a custom Tervis, or a Series Finisher medal.

You can also earn Series Awards points at each event. These points come from finishing in the Top 10 Overall, Top 10 Masters, or Top 10 in your age group. Your Series Age Group is determined by your age on the day of the first race, the Firecracker 5K.
