About Running Zone Foundation

Since 2003, Running Zone has driven Brevard County’s running and walking community forward. Today, Running Zone Foundation carries that mission forward. It produces high-quality events that bring people together and give back to local nonprofits.

Running Zone Foundation, Inc. became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2008. Its mission is to promote health, fitness, and community impact throughout Brevard County. Through its events, the Foundation continues to support and uplift local nonprofit organizations. This work builds on an idea Don and Denise Piercy started back in 2003. Bring people together through movement, and give back to the community that supports them.

What the Foundation Does

The Foundation hosts a dynamic lineup of events. These include seven races in the Run Brevard Race Series. They also include the Brevard Corporate 5K, Shamrock Shuffle 3K, Space Coast Turkey Trot 5K, Running Wild Trail 5K, and the Space Coast Marathon & Half Marathon. Each event welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or just getting started, there’s a race here for you.

Many of these events also include a Team Challenge. It lets friends, family members, and co-workers compete together against other teams in the same category. Alongside it, the School Team Challenge helps local elementary and middle school students build fitness and confidence. The Foundation also partners directly with area schools to develop walking and running programs for students. More than 1,500 individuals in elementary and middle school have participated this season alone.

Community Impact

Through its events, Running Zone Foundation has donated over $1.5 million locally since 2004. These funds support programs and partnerships that keep Brevard County active, healthy, and connected. Every race you run, walk, or volunteer for directly supports that mission. Every dollar raised stays right here in the community.
